Depression Recovery Centre, Wellington
The Kadima workshop was privileged to partner with some wonderful people on the fitout for a new initiative to mental health management. The Depression Recovery Centre in the Wellington CBD is a private undertaking to help those who suffer from an affliction that can cast a long shadow over peoples lives.
Working with principal director Brent Williams, and key project partners Roger Green (Maxwell Rogers Fabrics) and Tennent Brown Architects, the Kadima design team collaborated to create sofas and chairs that would be both welcoming, and functional.
The main feature design is the Noelle chair by Kadima. This wonderful multi purpose design allows for genuine lounge comfort without being too heavy aesthetically or physically. The aim was to provide a chair that could function in therapy sessions without the garden variety ugly stacker chair look, and provide a comforting appeal. The chair needed to also be tough as it will be moved often for different settings. The result, in the Maxwell Rogers NZ wool, is a stunning set of chairs that look easy, feel good, and will take a heavy commercial use. The sofas are the Kadima Huia design from our lounge range, covered in Maxwell Rogers wool.
